Denbies Community Garden Surrey Hills Society
Surrey Hills Society has laid the groundwork for a community garden which will benefit visitors and locals for years to come.
Working with the support of Denbies Wine Estate, over the course of 2024 and early 2025, charity Surrey Hills Society has laid the groundwork for a community garden which will benefit visitors and locals for years to come.
The community garden holds a unique place, as well as operating as a kitchen garden, it is also used as a location for the charity’s National Heritage Lottery Funded project, Growing Together where it is used to promote heritage gardening skills.
Through the Access Fund, Surrey Hills National Landscape has supplied the Society with a temporary transportable matting, which makes the garden accessible to more people, especially those with limited ability.
Plans are afoot to lay a network of accessible paths in the next financial year, at which point this path will be used by the charity to improve the accessibility of other events they hold outside.
