A hike with several stunning view spots: 6 miles (10km), including Pitch Hill, Ewhurst Windmill and Surrey Hills Art installations.

To celebrate Spring equinox (Wed 20th March) we bring you a fabulous new route,  that traces the ‘Inspiring Views Walk’ by the Surrey Hills Arts Society.  Starting at one of the best views into the Surrey Hills from the unique ‘Perspectives bench and shelter’, we then follow the Greensand way to two more stunning hill-top view at Reynards and Pitch Hill.  Heading downhill, we’ll pass Rapsley Farm and Alderbrook Estate to find another stunning bench called ‘Xylem Voices’.  A lovely stroll back through woodland and copses, we complete our circular route.

Difficulty: moderate/hilly
Duration: 2.5-3h approx
Bring: snacks, drink (no shopping facilities)
Facilities: There are no facilities on route

Meet / park: Hurtwood Car Park 6 (NOT Car park 5!): Winterfold, ‘Radar Site’, Alderbrook Rd, Guildford, GU5 9EN

Important Parking Notice: Car park 6 cannot be easily found on Google Maps. We would recommend downloading the What3Words App and follow this location (What3words reference submerge.error.stepping)

(Car park 5/Donkins  is not the right car park but it is only 400m away from Car park 6 if you want to use Google for directions). Please arrive 5min earlier

Further event details and how to prepare for the walk:
Please ensure you bring water and snack for the walk. Please wear sturdy shoes; bring waterproofs if necessary. The distance and duration of the walk depends on the group’s pace and weather conditions. We aim for a medium walking pace with several stops, unless advertised in the event description.
