There is magic when walking through the Chantries, especially when the fresh, new beech leaves provide a dappled canopy for dancing light to shine through onto carpets of bluebells. Located about a mile from Guildford town centre, the Chantries is an ancient semi-natural woodland, home to sweet chestnut, oak, beech, birch, holly, sequoias, scots pine, douglas fir and many other conifers. In the spring, the woodland floor is densely carpeted with beautifully scented bluebells.
During HINOKI Forest Bathing, we take in the forest atmosphere to help us to relax, destress and enhance our wellbeing.
Started in Japan, where it is called shinrin yoku, forest bathing is a slow walk (no more than 1-1/2 miles) through the woodland, using nature, mindfulness and meditation to help you tune into your senses, taking in the relaxing atmosphere of the trees and finding your connection to nature. We finish our session with a Japanese influenced woodland tea ceremony.
Learn about how the art and science of forest bathing can improve your health and wellbeing and experience the benefits long after your guided sensory walk.
