International Astronomy Day 2024

Come and celebrate International Astronomy Day by coming to meet Guildford Astronomical Society at Newlands Corner. Our dark skies in the Surrey Hills National Landscape are precious and need to be protected for the health of people and wildlife. Let’s discover the wonders of our dark skies together!

We’ll help you find some constellations, some cool things you can see on the moon without needing a telescope and other stellar gems hidden in plain sight.

We’ll have our scopes and show you how to find some of our favourite constellations and the surprising jewels in the night sky, hidden in plain sight.

We’ll be at Newlands Corner at 7pm 12th October.

Feel free to bring your own scope camera or astrophotography equipment and join us.
