Just hike – 16km Headley and Walton-on-the-Hill
October 6, 2024 @ 10:30 am – 3:30 pm
Enjoy an extremely varied 10 miles circular walk that includes two remarkable stretches of stunning heathland
Generally the walk is quite easy but there is a both a brief steep ascent and descent.
The walk commences on the National Trust owned Headley Heath which provides a stunning mix of native woodland and open heathland before making its way up onto the North Downs.
We then cross on to Walton Heath before reaching the village of Walton-on-the-Hill where a number of options for refreshment await us.
Suitably refreshed we make our back through country & heathland paths back to the start.
Difficulty: Moderate due to the length and some short bit of up and down – other than that quite easy trail.
Duration: 4.5-5h approx
Bring: Your NT membership card for parking, Snacks, drink, money for shops/ ‘Village Café’ in Walton-on-the-Hill, Download RingGo
Facilities: At the mid point in the Village of Walton on the Hill there are pubs and a shop. We also pass a number of other pubs on the route so plenty of options for a quick stop if needed.
