Nature Exploration Walk
29 November 2024 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Join us on a 4-1/2 mile circular walk around Hascombe Hill

Join us on a 4-1/2 mile circular walk around Hascombe Hill, stopping to learn about mushrooms and other plants to forage this time of year, continuing on to visit the Stone Circle, where we will take a rest. With a small group size, there will be lots of chances for questions on foraging, herbal medicine, natural navigation, and more.
HINOKI GIFT You will go home with a HINOKI gift of a specially blended herbal tea for the season and a pocket size first aid balm made with foraged herbs.
FORAGED TEA We start the walk making our own foraged tea that will be ready at our first stop, learning about mushrooms.
MUSHROOMS There are still many varieties of mushrooms to forage. We will learn about several and forage a few for you to take home.
FORAGING PLANTS We will learn about the many plants that can be foraged this time of year, using some of them to make our tea.
FOREST BATHING When it feels appropriate, we will stop to mindfully enjoy nature around us. This is the Japanese way of forest bathing, to notice when nature presents itself to us.
NATURAL NAVIGATION Learn about ways to read nature to help guide you.
STONE CIRCLE We will visit the stone circle. It consists of 18 stones that mark the important solar and lunar rising and setting points.
OPTIONAL PUB LUNCH Finally, we end our walk with an optional pub lunch (paid for separately) at the White Horse, where the food is superb!
