Silent Pool Artisan Tasting

A fascinating and flavour-filled day out with the Artisans based at the Silent Pool.

Nestled around the Silent Pool are a small group of artisans who produce exceptional food and drink. On the Artisan Tasting Day we’ll introduce you to these neighbours and show you around our distillery. It’s a fascinating and flavour-filled day out that includes lunch.

Mandira’s Kitchen

The tour commences at Mandira’s Kitchen with a welcoming cup of chai and samosas. The team will take you on a descriptive journey along the ancient spice route to discover how spices made their way from India to become an essential part of British cuisine. Learn about buying, storing, and using spices, including a quick curry-in-a-hurry demonstration. All guests receive a magical spice blend to create your unique curry at home, as well as a £5 voucher to spend in the Mandira’s Kitchen shop.

Albury Vineyard

It’s then a short walk to the family-run Albury Organic Vineyard. Founder Nick Wenman planted the vineyard in 2009 and key to its success is a commitment to organic and biodynamic principles. Tour the vines and learn about the wine production process before sampling award-winning and limited-release wines and spirits, some of which are opened exclusively for the Artisan Tasting Day. A ploughman’s lunch is served at the vineyard and you will enjoy a £5 discount on sparkling wine at the shop.

Silent Pool Distillery

We move on to the Silent Pool Distillery where we handcraft, distil and bottle our iconic gin. Our guide will explain the legend of the Silent Pool, why and how we chose this location for our distillery, and the history of gin itself. See the stills that make our spirits and find out about our four-stage distillation process and how we get the best out of the carefully selected botanicals that flavour our gins. And of course you get to taste our range of spirits, and discover our distillers’ recommended serves.
