Access for All funded projects
The DEFRA Access for All fund has been provided to deliver projects to improve accessibility in England’s National Parks and National Landscapes.
With £7.66m allocated from DEFRA’s three-year funding settlement, the goal is to make these landscapes more inclusive for people of all abilities, ages, and backgrounds, enhancing the benefits of nature for everyone.
The £447k allocated to the Surrey Hills over two years—£215k in 2022/23 and £232k in 2024/25 (not available in 2023/24) —supports initiatives aligning with the Surrey Hills Management Plan. Projects focus on four themes: People, Nature, Climate, and Place, with a primary focus on accessibility.
Throughout the programme, we have been working closely with Surrey Coalition of Disabled People to review sites across the Surrey Hills to understand where the funding is best placed.
