Good Friday Walk – 12km Knepp Estate Re-wilding Walk
April 18, 2025 @ 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
A great opportunity to join our knowledgable guide on a unique walk through the Knepp Estate a pioneer in the rewilding movement and the subject of a best-selling book; “Rewilding” by Isabella Tree.

We start early to beat the crowds and hopefully see some wildlife when it is most active. Knepp is a trailblazing 3,500-acre re-wilding project that has changed the way people think about nature and how they can heal our planet.
Martin has visited the Knepp Estate many times and will guide you with information and stories on this stunning route to the most special places on the Estate.
Since they began re-wilding just twenty years ago, endangered species such as nightingales, turtle doves and purple emperor butterflies have found sanctuary here. The sheer abundance of life is mind-blowing. Herds of old English longhorn cattle, Tamworth pigs, Exmoor ponies and red and fallow deer wander the landscape, their disturbance shaping the water meadows, shrubland and wood pasture, creating new habitats for wildlife. Knepp’s dynamic, rebounding ecosystem is a story of hope, showing how nature can bounce back if we let it. Thousands of nature-lovers come here to take in the astonishing sights and sounds.
We finish with a relaxing tea, coffee and a bit of cake in the charming Kitchen Gardens, where there is also a farm shop selling local produce and gifts.
