Our business guests can choose from hosting VIP board meetings for 10 guests, to conferences for 250 delegates, and the gardens are the perfect space for team building activities.

Our Story

For 400 years, Wotton House has done things differently. Once home to John Evelyn, a botanist and arboriculture expert, he was passionate about the role of plants in our diets, lived as a vegetarian and was considered a pioneer of his time. He created the first Italian garden in England, completed in 1652, adorned with Roman temples and original mosaics. The gardens have been deemed worthy of protection and are unusually, individually Grade II listed. Built for intrigue, discover their mystical nature that is fit for any romantic explorer.

This sense of eccentricity lives on at Wotton and you can see the Evelyn family history still present in the hotel today. What’s remained throughout the centuries is our sense of warmth, charm and individuality.
